Purpose
Settings holds shared facts that make later transactions understandable: categories, models, locations, external parties, agreements, condition/status policies, and permitted capabilities.
Change carefully
Create new records through the page’s explicit action buttons. Use known-record autocomplete to avoid duplicates. A change to a catalogue or location affects future selection and reporting; it does not retroactively rewrite historical facts.
Review checkpoint
After a policy or access change, test the affected workflow with a safe fixture and confirm that permitted users see the intended controls while excluded users do not.
