Asset Records and State
Keep identity, ownership, lifecycle, condition, availability, place, and custody separate.

Record dimensions
An asset record has independent dimensions. Ownership is FPH-owned or external custody. Identity mode is serialized, quantity, or consumable. Lifecycle includes draft, active, retired, disposed, returned to owner, or lost. Condition describes physical state. Availability is calculated from all of these facts; it is not a free-text status.
Location and accountability
A location records a physical or virtual place. A container records containment. A custodian records responsibility. During an approved checkout or handoff, the person can remain accountable even when the current place changes to transit.
Changes and corrections
Movements, counts, condition reports, custody, and corrections append new evidence. Do not rewrite earlier history to make a current view look tidy. Use a supervised correction with a reason when a previous fact is wrong.
