Purpose
Overview is the scan-first entry point for AMS. It combines the Owned and Loaned Asset register with totals for available, checked-out, in-transit, external-custody, and book-value records.
Scanner recovery
If a QR code, barcode, NFC tag, or manually entered identity cannot be resolved inside the active workspace, AMS keeps the scanner open and moves to manual entry. The same safe retry applies when connectivity is unavailable, the current browser cannot decode camera/NFC input, or multiple camera codes are visible: isolate one label or enter it manually, then try again. A label flagged as a possible clone or tamper attempt is blocked from every operational handoff and must be verified and escalated. None of these recovery states creates, changes, or attaches a record.

Exceptions rail
Overdue returns, transit exceptions, and maintenance/audit due items are prompts to investigate. They are not proof that a person or carrier is at fault.
