Search before assuming a record is missing
Search by display name, FPH tag, serial, lender tag, container, shipment, location, or accountable custodian. Use enough detail to distinguish near-identical equipment.
Scanner rules
QR, barcode, and NFC resolve one canonical identity: an asset, container, shipment, location, or a sealed container through its seal reference. A seal resolves its owning container and shipment; it is not treated as an independent asset. An NFC tag UID is secondary device evidence, not the business identifier. The carrier must not contain private borrower, owner, agreement, or value information.
Use the camera or NFC reader where the device supports it. If the device does not support automatic detection, choose Enter manually and enter the complete tag, resolver URL, barcode value, or NFC payload. AMS resolves within the active workspace only. A resolved asset narrows the Overview register to that canonical record; clear the search to return to the full register.
From Transit, a resolved shipment, container, or container seal opens Receive shipment with the immutable shipment context already selected. Confirm the manifest, destination, quantity, condition, and exceptions before completing receipt.
Use the scan control beside a location field when creating a shipment or Hub task. A verified location fills that exact source, destination, from, or to field with its canonical label and current operational state; it does not silently replace another location field.
Verify the result
Check the visible ownership, status, condition, availability, and location before starting an operation. A successful scan does not authorize a checkout or prove an item was returned.
