Track inspection, repair, service, calibration, and return-to-service work.

Purpose
Maintenance creates a durable work record for an item that needs inspection, repair, service, calibration, or a condition decision. New work order records the signed-in actor, asset, problem, priority, and assigned work.
Selecting and completing work
Work order details and Complete work load authorized work orders by their readable number, type, and current state. Select the work order by name; AMS submits its immutable ID. Detail resolves the linked asset’s readable name and tag rather than exposing its identifier, then shows created, scheduled, started, and completed milestones from the authoritative record. Completion records diagnosis, post-service condition, meter reading/unit, actual parts cost, actual labor cost, downtime, test result, next-service date, evidence, and any required follow-up reason.
Choose Pass, Conditional pass, or Fail for the operational test. A pass releases the asset. A conditional pass requires a follow-up reason. A failed test leaves the work order paused and the asset quarantined; it does not present the outcome as a return to service. Parts and labor are retained as actual lifecycle-cost records associated with the work order. These operational cost records do not by themselves make an accounting posting.
Pause and reassign
Pause work only lists in-progress work orders. It requires an accountable interruption reason and confirmation that the asset remains unavailable; AMS retains the signed-in operator and server time in the immutable maintenance history. Reassign work lists assignable work orders and only eligible maintenance operators. It requires a reason and explicit handoff confirmation, then retains the new assignment and the actor who made it without rewriting previous service history.
Operating rule
Move an asset into maintenance or quarantine when its condition makes ordinary issue unsafe. Completing a work order records the outcome and return-to-service decision; it does not erase the original defect or cost evidence.
Finance note
Labour, parts, vendor work, downtime, and replacement analysis can inform economics, but an operational work order is not by itself an accounting posting.
